The Brit Awards – The Jury Is Out!

Last night London played host to the 32nd Brit Awards, which saw some of the world’s biggest pop stars out in force. The capital is also hosting Fashion Week, so maybe that explains why a lot of the ladies had pulled out all the stops on the red carpet with some rather wierd and wonderful creations. However lets not forget, there’s a fine line between fashion forward and fashion fail! We had a look through some of last nights red carpet looks to decide which were worthy of the spotlight and those that, well…. Weren’t!

Jessie J

Hayley: What can I say? At least she’s not in her usual unitard ensemble! I actually quite like the dress, the colour is great on her, it just doesn’t go with such severe make-up and that 20′s inspired bird’s nest! A more natural face and a simple up do is all this dress would have needed to take it from garish to glam.

Anna: Love the colour but definitately NOT a fan of the sheer and embellished detailing covering her lady parts! Why do we have to see Jessie J knickers? However, it’s not a complete disaster, she’s pulled it back with the  really like that old ollywood glamour vibe.

Rihanna

Hayley: Every red carpet i’ve seen Rihanna on recently she has looked incredible! This show stopping gold Givency number is just gorgeous; the plunging neckline, the thigh high split and the sequinned detailing – MAJOR! And I LOVE the gloves!

Anna: I love the colour and texture of this dress, it works really well with her skin tone and hair colour. Not too sure on the gloves though, they’re more S&M than red carpet!

Paloma Faith

Hayley: It’s like 40′s siren meets desparate housewife and whats more, it works! Love this D&G shift dress, the aubergine print may be a little unorthodox but it compliments Paloma’s eccentric sense of style perfectly. The accessories work well; the cute gloves, turban and quilted leather bag polish the look off a treat!

Anna: Here the gloves actually work. I Like the bold vegetable print, and the midi length is really flattering for her. The shift shape suits her, very mid-century modern. Not too sure on the sock and shoe combo and I HATE the turban!
