We just came across this great series of videos produced for Sportsgirl Australia. It documents the street styles at Brooklyn flea market and around some of New York’s most hippest neighbourhoods. While haute couture and the runway inspire us, we must not forget that top designers are just as influenced by the fashions they see on the streets, which can be just as exciting and innovative. This is where it all starts: the real people, constantly creating and recreating looks through a collage of influences, clothing labels, second hand or even home-made items of clothing. They interpret the catwalk trends and make them wearable for everyday life, like the brilliant urban trends worn by New Yorkers in these videos. We love you, style scouts!
