We just had a look at what Lady Gaga is currently up to. That girl never stops! To start with, she is collaborating with artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AVAF), Mugler Creative Director and Lady Gaga Fashion Director Nicola Formichetti to create a workshop in Barneys’ New York store this Christmas. From mid-November, GAGA’S WORKSHOP will be occupying a whole floor of the department store. Signature artwork created for the programme will be featured on holiday shopping bags and packaging, while small gift items developed under the creative direction of Gaga and Formichetti will be available for a limited time only. 25% of all sales will be donated to charity. What better Christmas present could New Yorkers ask for?
And there’s more! At the VMA’s last week, Gaga arrived in her male persona. Gaga first caused a storm by posing for Vogue Hommes Japan as Jo Calderone, a fictional Sicilian mechanic, created with the help of Formichetti. Her new alter ego is also pictured on the cover of her latest single, ‘You and I’, released in the UK on August 18. In what is perhaps an allusion to sexual identity and her open bisexuality, Gaga yet again chooses a controversial path, challenging us to judge her. We think, man or woman, and this year’s VMA winner of Best Video with a Message and Best Female Video for ‘Born This Way,’ she remains fabulous!
