To be honest, the news of Nicola Formichetti planning to start his own fashion line didn’t come as a huge surprise to me. Considering the massive hype around his appointment as creative director of Mugler and his close alliance with Lady Gaga, an own line seems like the next logical step. Formichetti revealed his plans during an interview with Milk Studios where he also spoke about presenting a sneak preview of his collection in his pop-up store at New York Fashion Week. Next to pieces from his own line, Formichetti will also showcase 12 up-and-coming designers from China and “cool” stuff from Japan. Head to Fashion Indie for full interview and more infos on Nicola’s plans.
