The German blog was there when it happened, I am talking about the photoshoot for the Zalando magazine that is coming out the 11th of March. Of course, the big question is; who is going to be the cover girl?
Relatively unknown outside Germany, but definitely a hip girl who know what’s she’s doing: let me present to you the cool singer Alina of the up and coming band Frida Gold.
I must admit, I did not know who this girl was, so I took a quick look at the band’s page and there I had real proof; Frida Gold’s new song “zeig mir wie du tanzt” has been remixed by Skrillex! Now, getting your track remixed by one of the world’s coolest musicians and DJs, that can’t be a bad sign…
All images belong to Evelyn Bloch over on the German Blog (you can find it in the sidebar), who was at the shoot snapping pictures. Lucky her!
You can take a look at the super-high wedges (the actual wedge heels are in wood, pretty cool) that Alina wears in one of the pictures, here.
I love black suede wedges, so I added a pair from Chinese Laundry too. The lace dress is from Vila and the sequined blazer from Object.
Oh, and did I mention that the shoot took place at the legendary Berlin club Asphalt (image courtesy of their website)? If you are ever in Berlin, don’t forget to pay this place a visit (take an evening off to make sure that you can dance the night away).
The Purple background and Frida Gold-logo are actually parts of the cover design for the new single “zeig mir wie du tanzt” (image courtesy of Frida Gold).
With loose harem-pants like these from Samsøe & Samsøe (the colour is actually called asphalt), you should dress up with high heels; rock’n'roll booties like these from Blink or a pair of simple pumps (Friis & company) will do the job. You like?
I think you should listen to both the original version and the Skrillex remix of “zeig mir wie du tanzt”, and get pepped for Friday night tomorrow!

And what would I wear for a night out at Asphalt (Frida Gold style, of course) ?
Humör colourful knitted sweater, Object black harem pants, Nike “running sucks” t-shirt, flip*flop hooded parka, Adidas Originals sneakers (so cool!), Puma bag, Killah tribal print top and wedges from Sofie Schnoor.
I would try to be the cool “new indie kid on the block” (maybe in these outfits I would not miserably fail as I do in reality) . Yes, I know that these are totally unrealistic clothes to go out clubbing in (I have once accidentally gone out wearing a sweater, and I promise you that will never happen again) but let’s ignore that humans sweat in real life and enjoy some sporty indie street-style.
The “running sucks” t-shirt is an obvious choice here. Of course, Indie kids never run nor will ever be seen working out in public on a gym. No running, indie kids dance (that’s the trick to burn calories).
